sheikh Mohammad Khiabani :

son of Haj Abdolhamid the merchant, was born in 1297 hegira in Shabestar. He studied preliminary studies in his birthplace and then studied religious knowledge in Tabriz. He studied jurisprudence and principles with ayatollah Angaji and astronomy with mirza Abdolali. He was raised to high scientific degrees through perseverance and brilliant talent and during his learning period, he extracted the difficult problems and wrote calendars. Upon victory of constitutionalism in 1324 hegira(1285) he defended the people along with the other warriors with rifle over his shoulder and in the embankments. At the age of 30, he was elected as representative of Tabriz to the parliament and took anti-despotic stances and positions beside other representatives like Modarres and Mirza esmaeil Nobari and defended the rights of the agonized people. Among his brave measures, was his measures against colonial ultimatum of Russian Tsar government and in the ultimatum it was said: 1- the Iranian government must depose and put aside Mr. Shuster, the treasurer and Mr. Lekufer 2- the government must undertake not to employ advisors from foreign countries without notice and satisfaction of Russia and Britain. 3- the expenses borne by Russian government for attacking Iran (Rasht and Anzali) must be paid by Iran. He delivered many speeches in the parliament for blocking the ultimatum from being passed and this watchful measure caused other representatives to vote against the ultimatum for the second time. Upon this measure, at the advice of Vosougholdoleh, the parliament was dissolved and the second parliament was closed down. In his pursuit, Khiabani published Tajaddod paper and informed the people about the news of combats. He continued his struggles to settle the havoc in Azarbaijan and to create some sort of cultural revolution till he was assassinated on 22, Shahrivar 1299.
